IBM DataPower Operations Dashboard v1.0.21.x

Cloud Agents

The Cloud Agents section under [Manage→Topology] provides access to the set of cloud agents that are connected to DPOD.

A Cloud Agent will be used to monitor gateways managed by the DataPower Kubernetes Operator.

Each row in the table contains the following details about a single cloud agent. For more information, see Adding Cloud Agents.

Column

Description

Column

Description

Name

The cloud agent name in DPOD (<CR name>@<CR namespace name>).
Clicking on a cloud agent’s name will load the cloud agent’s details in the Cloud Agent View screen and provide access to edit/delete the cloud agent.

Manager URL

The URL used by DPOD to interact with the Cloud Agent Manager.

Adding a Cloud Agent

The cloud agents table widget contains the New… button at the top. Click this button to add a new cloud agent to DPOD.
To add a cloud agent, see Adding Cloud Agents.

Edit or Delete a Cloud Agent

The Cloud Agent View screen contains two buttons at the top.

Click on the Cloud Agent Info button for more information, such as the version and cloud agent’s endpoints and their status.

Click the Edit button to edit the displayed cloud agent's details. You may alter the cloud agent's manager URL, credentials and disabled samplings.

Click the Delete button to remove the cloud agent from the system, hence all monitored gateways by the cloud agent. The gateways will stop sending information to DPOD and DPOD will stop sampling the gateways. However, existing data of the gateways in DPOD (e.g.: transactional data, resources) will be kept.

Setup Tab

The Setup tab allows to configure the monitored gateways by the cloud agent to send information to DPOD in order to collect and view transactional data.

Setup Syslog

Automatically configure domains to collect device-level and transactional log messages from domains that match the supplied pattern(s) in all monitored gateways by this cloud agent.
Patterns are case sensitive and comma-separated. The Analysis Level determines the amount of transactional data that is sent from the monitored gateways.

You can disable/enable this Syslog log target by clicking on the Enabled/Disabled buttons.

Note: This action changes the configuration for all monitored gateways by cloud agent - please review changes.

Setup WS-M

WS-M allows payload and API-C policy variables capturing of API-Connect v5/v5c DataPower Gateway APIs and DataPower Services from the monitored gateway's application domains.

You can disable/enable this by clicking on the Enabled/Disabled buttons.

Setup Certificate Monitor for gateway

The Certificate Monitor is used to provide alerts before certificate expiration available on expired certificate dashboard. Each monitored gateway must be configured (at the gateway level) to enable certificate expiry alerts.

Consult the System Parameters List ("Certificate monitoring duration in days") for information regarding the time interval parameter.

Setup API Probe

Sets up API Probe Settings to allow API-C debug-level data capturing per policy for advanced troubleshooting.
Clicking on the “Setup API Probe” button will allow you to choose from a list of predefined Gateway Peerings of all API-C domains.
Note: API Probe Settings should have a unique Gateway Peering therefore before configuring the API Probe Settings, it is necessary to configure a Gateway Peering and enable REST Management Interface.
