DPOD's packaging options support different scenarios:

  1. Appliance Mode - Installation on a virtual/physical server
    1. Choose Editions - Developer or Standard
    2. Download ISO file
    3. Verify your system requirements , choose a load type and make sure you can allocate the needed resources
    4. Prepare your network configuration
    5. Prepare your monitored devices
    6. Perform the Appliance Installation path
    7. Verify your installation
    8. Consider do the post installation steps

  2. Non Appliance Mode Installation on a Pre-installed server (physical/virtual) with CentOS /RHEL only 
    1. Verify your system requirements and choose a load type and make sure you can allocate the needed resources
    2. Verify your network configuration requirements
    3. Verify your monitored devices requirements
    4. Prepare the Pre-installed OS for DPOD installation.
    5. Download CEF packaging (Compressed Executable File)
    6. Perform the Non-Appliance Installation path
    7. Verify your installation
    8. Consider do the post installation steps

  3. Developer Edition Installation is used for developer use only and aim to be installed on Laptops.
    1. Chose deployment options : ISO file to install on VM Player or Workstation.
    2. Verify your system requirements , choose a load type and make sure you can allocate the needed resources
    3. Prepare your network configuration
    4. Prepare your monitored devices
    5. For ISO installation - read this .
    6. Verify your installation

  4. Multi Node Federation deployment - Installation on virtual/physical servers for very high performance requirements.
    1. Submit a sizing request to IBM L2. All multi node installations must go through the sizing process in order to support required performance.
    2. Follow the instructions in cell environment installation.
