Symptoms
- Attempting to add a new gateway to DPOD results in the following error message:
The device's system identifier does not equal to <Gateway Name> - However, the system identifier (appliance name) is exactly the same as the name provided in DPOD for that gateway when trying to add it.
Cause
- The gateway user provided to DPOD cannot make SOMA requests to the gateway, and DPOD fails to read the real system identifier (appliance name) of the gateway.
- SeeĀ Prepare your Monitored Devices for more information.
Resolution
- First make sure the system identifier (appliance name) in the gateway's Web GUI is exactly the same as provided to DPOD when adding the gateway.
- Make sure the user is privileged in the gateway's Web GUI.
- Try to login with the privileged user and reset its password if indeed it expired.
