Prepare for Upgrade

Make sure to follow Preparing for Upgrade before applying the upgrade.

Cell Environment Upgrade Steps

Upgrade the Cell Environment’s servers in the order specified below:

1. Upgrade the cell manager first (by following All-in-One Upgrade).
   When the cell manager upgrade is complete, only the following services should be up and running - MonTier-Derby, MonTier-es-raw-trans-Node-1/2/3/4 (the Web Console will be unavailable).
   At this point, do not start the other services manually on the cell manager.

2. Then, upgrade all cell members (by following All-in-One Upgrade).
   The upgrade of all cell members can be done in parallel.

3. After the cell members upgrade is completed:

   1. If the cell manager is installed in Appliance mode, reboot it (to apply the OS updates and start all the services).

   2. If the cell manager is installed in Non-Appliance mode, start its services using /app/scripts/app-util.sh ("Start All").
