DPOD classifies the restarts into 4 5 categories:
- Device Initiated - restarts initiated by the DataPower due to a reason (e.g. low memory)
- User Initiated - a restart that was initiated by a user via the web interface, CLI, etc.
- First Boot - the first startup of the device
- Unexpected - for example, due to a power failure
- Domain Restart - a user initiated domain restart
DPOD analyzes the restarts by reading the monitored device's audit logs every 15 minutes, you can change this interval through the Web Console by navigating to Manage→System Parameters→Interval in Seconds to Analyze Audit Logs.
The Restarts Dashboard comprises contains 4 parts:
- A graph showing the restarts over a timeline
- The Device memory graph (a device initiated restart is often related to memory issues)
- Device and domain restarts table
