Update

Upon a user request from the Web Console (

when adding a Monitored Device) the SOMA Configuration is aligned with the required manual step detailed in the Prepare your Monitored Devices chapter. This request is explicitly accepted by the admin on the UI.

If the SOMA configuration is not fully aligned, then DPOD will set it correctly and make the following changes to the XML Management Interface
[Network → Management → XML Management Interface]

  • Enable SOAP Configuration Management
  • Enable AMP Endpoint
  • Enable SLM Endpoint

clicking the "Setup Syslog" on a device), the XML Management Interface configuration is updated to the same configuration described in Monitored Gateways Requirements:

    • Enable SOAP Configuration Management.

    • Enable AMP Endpoint.

    • Enable SLM Endpoint.

    • Enable WS-Management Endpoint

    No.

To undo these changes, leave this checkbox unchecked when you install DPOD.

If a backup is performed as requested in the installation procedure, then this data can be extracted from the backup by restoring it to a temporary Gateway instance and viewing the exact configuration.

The specific scripts will then set appropriate values identified in the action above.

    Device Statistics

On the gateway's Web GUI, in “XML Management Interface” screen, change the configuration to the desired one.

    Statistics Settings

    Host Alias
    (

    Device Level

    default domain)

    Add

Upon a user request from the Web Console

, two host aliases will be created - "MSC-(env name)" (or montier-syslog in older DPOD versions) and

(clicking the "Setup Syslog" on a device), the following host aliases are created:

    • MSC-<env name>-<ID>

    • MonTier_LogTarget_Source

    .
    The alias
    • montier-wsm

    will be created
    • (on the first creation of a

WSM subscription. Yes, it can be removed with a script.

    Add

Upon a user request from the Web Console (

    by

    clicking

a button), One log target called DPOD-MSC-<env name>-system will be added in default domain (if the setup was done before DPOD v1.0.5 the log target name will be MonTier-system-log ).Yes, it can be removed with a script.
Or, when deleting a monitored device via Manage→Devices>Monitored Devices→Delete Device, check the box

the "Setup Syslog" on a domain or for all domains), or when DPOD is set to automatically setup Syslog on new domains, the following log categories are created:

    • api-mon

    • api-mon-2

On the gateway's Web GUI, in “Log Categories” screen, select the log categories and delete them.

    Log Target
    (default domains)

    Add

Upon a user request from the Web Console (clicking the "Setup Syslog" on a device), the following log target is created:

    • DPOD-MSC-<env name>-system

When deleting a monitored gateway via [Manage → Topology → Gateways → Delete Gateway], make sure to check the option "Delete Syslog logs targets from device" in the confirmation window.

Alternatively, on the gateway's Web GUI, in “Manage Log Targets” screen, select the log target and delete it.

    • DPOD-MSC-<env name>-1

    and
    • DPOD-MSC-<env name>-2

(or montier-syslog-1 and montier-syslog-2 if the setup was done before DPOD v1.0.5)
For API Connect domains, there may be a third log target called

Yes, when deleting a monitored gateway via [Manage → Topology → Gateways → Delete Gateway], make sure to check the option "Delete Syslog logs targets from device" in the confirmation window.

Alternatively, on the gateway's Web GUI, in “Manage Log Targets” screen, select the log targets and delete them.

    Add

Upon a user request from the Web Console (clicking the "Setup WS-M" on a domain or for all domains), or when DPOD is set to automatically setup WS-M on new domains, the following log target may be created:

    • DPOD-MSC-<env

    -
    • name>-3

Domains added subsequently will not have these 2 DPOD log targets configured automatically.

domain or for all domains), or when DPOD is set to automatically setup Syslog on new domains, the following XSLT file may be uploaded to the gateway:

    • local:///<Domain>/isp/api-mon.xsl

On the gateway's Web GUI, in “File Management” screen, delete the file.

    Certificate Monitor
    (default domain)

    Update

Upon a user request from the Web Console

, DPOD sets this object in the admin state to 'enabled' and changes the interval and Reminder time.

    No.

In order to undo these changes, leave this checkbox unchecked when you install DPOD.

If a backup is performed as requested in the installation procedure, then this data can be extracted from the backup by restoring it to a temporary Gateway instance and viewing the exact configuration.

    Extended Transaction

    Device Level

    Add

Upon a user request from the Web Console, a user Log Category (montier-mon) is added to mark DPOD special logs.

Yes, it can be removed with a script.Add

(clicking the "Setup Certificate Monitor" on a device), certificate monitor is enabled and set with the interval and reminder time.

    Web Services Management Agent
    (application domains)

    Update

Upon a user request from the Web Console

, this action copies the following files to the Gateway store directory  - store://Montier-LOG.xsl, and store:///Montier-IDcheckSet.xsl:Yes, it can be removed with a script.

    Extended Transaction

    Service &

Domain LevelUpdateCreate Checkpoint - Before adding a stylesheet to easy recover, DPOD creates a checkpoint and performs a backup.

No, the checkpoint cannot be undone automatically.

    Update

Since an Extended transaction is intrusive by nature (as documented), DPOD adds Transform Action rule to the end of each rule for each Processing Policy for each WSP, MPG that exists in this domain. Since this is an Intrusive action, the appropriate alert will appear – see Appendix A for a reference to the documentation.

    Partially.

If no new Actions were added after the Action was added by DPOD then a customer script can remove it but Support can not provide such functionality.

    WS-M Agent definition

    Device Level

    Update

For each domain in the device, DPOD modifies the Web Service Management Agent [Objects→Web Service Management Agent]:

    1. Change attribute "Maximum Memory Usage" to 102400
    2. Change attribute "Capture Mode" to All

DPOD doesn’t change the admin state of the objects, therefore DPOD changes the gateway configuration only if this feature is used.

To undo these changes, the state of this checkbox needs be kept before you install DPOD.

If a backup is performed as requested in the installation procedure, then this data can be extracted from the backup by restoring it to a temporary Gateway instance and viewing the exact configuration.

The specific scripts will then set appropriate values identified in the action above.

    WS-M subscriptionCreate

This is a temporary object that is used for a predefined amount of time (default is 60 minutes) and when expired it is deleted by Gateway automatically

    Not Relevant

    ...

(clicking the "Setup WS-M" on a domain or for all domains), or when DPOD is set to automatically setup WS-M on new domains, the Web Services Management Agent configuration is updated:

    • Maximum buffer memory is set to 102400

    • Capture mode is set to “All”

On the gateway's Web GUI, in “Web Services Management Agent” screen, change the configuration to the desired one. Be aware that this may affect other WS-M Agent subscribers other than DPOD.

    WSM Agent Subscription
    (application domains)

    Create

Upon a user request from the Web Console (clicking the "Create" on the “Create WS-M Subscription” page), a temporary subscription will be created for a predefined amount of time (usually for a few minutes).

The subscription is automatically deleted by the gateway when expired.

    API Probe Settings

    Update

Upon a user request from the Web Console (clicking the “Setup API Probe” on a device or on an API-C domain), the API Probe Settings configuration is enabled and updated:

    • UserSummary is set to: Enabled by DPOD MSC

    • MaxRecords is set to 1000.

    • Expiration is set to 60.

    • GatewayPeering is set to the Gateway Peering the user chose.

On the gateway's Web GUI, in “AP Probe Settings” screen, disable the configuration.
