The Expert Mode dashboards provide access to the API-Connect Analytics Offload data through the OpenSearch Dashboards application.

  • Expert Mode dashboards should be used with caution:

    • Permissions are not enforced (e.g.: Custom Roles defined in DPOD). Everyone with access to

      Kibana

      Expert Mode dashboards will have access to all the data stored in DPOD, including internal data that should not be visible to standard users.

    • Kibana Elasticsearch

      Expert Mode dashboards queries are not optimized the way DPOD queries are. Performing an unoptimized query

      using Kibana

      might cause performance and memory issues

      , that will impact DPOD stability and performance significantly

      .

  • Kibana access

    Currently, access to Expert Mode dashboards is only

    permitted

    allowed to Administrators of DPOD.

  • The

    Changes in the internal structure of DPOD data

    is not documented and might change between versions of DPOD or the gateway/APIC.
  • DPOD team does not provide any support regarding Kibana usage.
  • Kibana access to DPOD data is not guaranteed to be supported in future versions

    may affect custom dashboards and queries created by users in the Expert Mode dashboards.
