Non-Appliance Mode

The non-appliance mode may be installed on a virtual or a physical server with a pre-installed operating system (RHEL/CentOS only). The application is installed on the provided operating system.

...

  1. Download the CEF file (Compressed Executable File).

  2. Verify your system requirements, choose a deployment profile and make sure to allocate the required resources.

  3. Prepare your network configuration.

  4. Prepare your monitored devices.

Federated Deployment (Cell Environment)

Federated architecture best fits customers that execute high load (thousands of transactions per second or more) in their gateways.

The cell environment implements the federated architecture by distributing DPOD's Store and DPOD's agents across different federated servers.

  • The cell environment is used for performance, not for HA/DR scenarios.

  • All cell environments should go through a sizing process in order to make sure to meet the requirements. Please submit an issue to IBM Support to start a sizing process.

  • More details and a detailed installation procedure may be found in Cell Environment installation procedure.

Developer Edition

The developer edition may be installed on a small virtual server or a laptop. It includes both the operating system (CentOS) and the application.

  • The developer edition may be used for development only, and is under a restricted license.

  • More information is available in Developer Edition.

Installation steps:

  1. Download the ISO file.

  2. Verify your system requirements, choose the development deployment profile and make sure to allocate the required resources.

  3. Prepare your network configuration.

  4. Prepare your monitored devices.

  5. Perform the Appliance Installation procedure.

  6. Review the post installation tasks.

DPOD Simulator

The DPOD simulator is used for demonstrations and POCs. It may be installed on a small virtual server or a laptop, and includes containers (Docker) that run DPOD along with gateways, MQ and more components to simulate a complete and rich environment with real data constantly flowing into DPOD.
